Admiral Sir John Richard Brigstocke KCB (born 1945) is a Royal Navy officer who went on to be Second Sea Lord.
Educated at West Downs School, Marlborough College and the Britannia Royal Naval College, Brigstocke joined the Royal Navy in 1962.[1]
He went on to be Captain of the Royal Naval College and Captain of HMS Ark Royal.[2] Later he was Flag Officer Second Flotilla, then Commander United Kingdom Task Group and then Flag Officer Surface Flotilla.[1]
In 1997 he was appointed Second Sea Lord and Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command.[2]
In retirement he became Chief Executive of the St Andrew's Group of Hospitals.[3] In 2005 he became Chairman of Council of the University of Buckingham[3] and in 2006 he was appointed Chairman of NHS East Midlands[4] and he also became Judicial Appointments and Conduct Ombudsman.[2]
